Dr Deepak Shikarpur Recognised with Prestigious Pune Festival Award

In the 36th Pune Festival, senior IT expert Dr. Deepak Shikarpur was honored with Pune Festival Award by Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra State Hon Ajitdada Pawar. Individuals who have done effective social work are rewarded with this honor every year. On this occasion MP Sunetratai Pawar and Vice President of Pune Festival Hon Krishna Kumar Goyal were present. Dr. Deepak Shikarpur is a Digital Literacy Activist and active in the IT sector for last 39 years.. He transforms young generation with 57 books, scholarly lectures, counselling . Many of his books have been translated into Braille. These are being used regularly by many visually impaired students across the state. For this work National Federation of Blind recognised him with a Special Citation on April 23 2024.

Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, who has been dedicated to computer literacy for the past 4 decades Author of 54 books has converted many of his books into Braille for visually impaired students. It has been used effectively by blind students across the state for many years. In recognition of his work, the National Association of the Blind (affiliated with the World Blind Union) has honored him with a special “Citation of Merit”
